Windows Forms are the interface that are used for designing the visual interface for a Windows application.
We can add the controls and any other items from the toolbox to window form by dragging and dropping them or by double clicking on them.
When you create any windows application in Visual Studio 2010. Then it creates a default form for you.
So let us start with developing a windows application by clicking on File->New Project Option and after that select Windows Form Application and Visual Basic language from the New project dialog box and finally press OK button.
Now Visual Studio makes your project and shows you a windows form named as Form1 as given below in the diagram:
At the top of the Form window the title bar is showing the title of the form that is Form1.
This title bar is also containing the three control boxes one for minimizing, second for maximizing and third for closing the window form.
Below the title bar, the main area of a form is called as the client area. We can place the various controls on the client area of form.
